I'm not sure about you, but for me the weekends, especially lately are crammed! I am typically running errands and completing all of the work I was not able to accomplished during the week. And, of course I am squeezing in an epic workout. I like to wear something that works when running from the gym all around the city.
With the fitness industry booming, especially fitness apparel brands, going to the gym is often a fashion show of who has the latest workout tights with the matching bra and sneakers. In fact, in 2010 SportsBusinessDaily.com estimated that sporting goods (with the exclusion of recreational transportation; bicycles, boats etc.) accounted for $30 billion in U.S. sales and in 2014 Statista.com estimated that number to more than double to $63 billion. I can only imagine what it will be this year.
There are plenty of cool-enough-to wear-out fitness labels that look great and are very in vogue. Many leading fashion sites have an activewear category specifically dedicated to fashionable fitness gear. Not to mention Net-a-Porter recently launched Net-a-Sporter, demonstrating that gym wear is more than fashionable.
I am wearing a shiny metallic black legging that works well with almost anything. I threw on my "snowed out jacket" by MINK PINK that is more than appropriate for today's post. As many of us here on the East coast are working from home and are in fact "Snowed Out" or in, for that matter. The faux shearling is uber cozy and warmer than expected. Throw on the non-gym sneakers and hit the ground running.
Stay warm and safe today
