I never considered myself preppy. However, I did go to prep school with a very rigid dress code, which I broke more often than not. This allowed me to make friends with the janitor who ran work detail after school. (Good thing too because he would always let me sneak out to make it to practice on time!) But lately I am digging the look. It’s as if I created my own go to dress code, often consisting of a sweater with a cute collared button-up peeping over the neckline. I even manage to do the sweater over the shoulders.
This photo happens to have been taken in San Francisco on Lombard Street, which if you have not been is a great city to visit. When the East coast is getting nice and toasty in August, San Fran has a cool breeze coming in off the water. Making the sweater ideal! It can be thrown on when chilly, or worn around the neck that I happen to think looks like a cool accessory. Plus it feels like a scarf so you have the in between on and off temperature. Hence I often revert back to preppy.
