One of the most common goals in life is to be HAPPY! This is actually a little tricky. When we set most other goals there are concrete steps we can follow to learn how to cook, train for a race, study a certain book to ace an exam. 

When it comes to happiness it is primarily a mentality. It is a choice you make! You can take what is given to you in life and make it benefit you in a way that makes you happy. 


Happiness is a byproduct of living a loving and meaningful life. There are no rules or directions. I can give you some advice, but ultimately it is a choice. You have to say to yourself, “I am Happy.”

Surround yourself with good people, with positive energy.

Have positive self-talk and look at the things in your life that are good. You are the only one who can control your own happiness.

Focus on the present moment. Enjoy and appreciate what is happening now. Yes, there has likely been times when something did not work out the way you had hoped, but dwelling on it is not going to make it better. And yes, we all have goals and expectations for where we want our lives to go, but getting upset that you are not there just yet, will also likely cause you stress. Realize that you are fortunate to be doing whatever you are doing in that present moment.

Depend on yourself for your own happiness; if you are searching happiness through a relationship (friendship, business, romantic, etc.) you will never be truly happy in that relationship. First, you must be independently happy.
