There is something to be said about being a sporty chick! I mean the spice girls wouldn't have been the same if Mel C didn't represent with a force!
The OOTD in this post inspired me to write about being sporty. Today athleisure is the new norm, but for me it has always been a large part of my wardrobe. Besides the aesthetic - there is an athletic mentality that makes every “sporty” individual pretty freekin’ awesome.
Playing sports as a child taught me so much more (or maybe just different skills) than any lesson in a classroom with a pencil and paper ever could. As an athlete you learn: that your own mental toughness can get you through any battle, How to be a good person and a team mate, That to succeed you need to work just a little harder every day, And that competition can be as serious as you make it, winning and losing both have their pros and cons.
I also feel that athletes whether they pick it up as children or adults have this certain vibe about them that is just so REAL!
Since I have started blogging I have dabbled in the fashion realm, as well as the fitness space and I have met so many amazing people along this journey.
Not to say one is better than the other - don't get me wrong I am a girly girl at heart and can play dress up with the best of them, but the people I meet through fitness are just so REAL! What you see is what you get and I love that about the wellness community.
You can NOT fake health, speed, strength, agility, weight, happiness etc.
So being sporty (an athlete) is an awesome trait I will never give up. Whether it is in the way I dress or the attitude I possess. As always I hope to pass on some of this vibe to all of you. It is so much better to be yourself than to try to emulate something you are not.
